Granulated chicken manure
 
Bird manure is a valuable and effective fertilizer. It contains all the main nutrients necessary for plants, but there is much more them in pellets of than in fresh manure.
 
As fertilizer it is 10 times better than manure. The effect of bird manure nutrients is almost the same as the equal quantity of nutrients of mineral fertilizers. However because nutrients in chicken manure are in the organic form, they are less washed away from soil, they are entered the soil gradually, during long time without creating high concentration of salts, in a result not only crop performance increases, but its quality improves also (content of vitamins, sugars, protein, starch increases and nitrates are not accumulated).
 
But besides its advantages fresh chicken manure also has some negative properties. Therefore to save manure nutrients, to improve its physical properties and technologies of entering into soil, to eliminate pathogenic microflora and helminths, the optimum decision will be thermal drying of manure, accompanied by granulation.
 
Advantages of granulated chicken manure compared to fresh manure:
  • Granulated manure has no smell.
  • In granulated manure there are no viable seeds of weeds, helminth and fly eggs and larvas.
  • In granulated manure there is no high humidity and stickiness that are typical to fresh manure (without litter).
  • Fresh manure becomes heated during storage time, that fact results in nitrogen losses in the form of gaseous ammonia, during 6 months of storage nitrogen losses can be more than 50%..               
The influence of a period of storage of a ready product (granulated manure) on changes of its properties was studied and it was shown, that during 6-8 months there were not great changes in its chemical structure. The new technology of chicken manure processing and turning it into highly effective granulated organic fertilizer is developed on an integrated poultry farm «Roskar» and is the acknowledgement of a possibility of creation of the closed cycle of waste recycling and getting finished fertilizers.
               
Advantages of granulated chicken manure:
 
  • The properties of granulated chicken manure are not changed during long storage time. Its pellets are water-strong, they swell at contact with water, increasing twice in sizes, that helps them to keep water at droughts.
  • At lack of water in the soil they slowly give this moisture, providing roots of plants and microorganisms with the best conditions at short droughts.
  • At granulate the number of microorganisms is 2 times decreased, that fact guarantees the absence of pathogenic microorganisms.
  • Granulated manure does not contain viable seeds of weed plants.
  • At storage of granulated manure its chemical parameters remain constant within 6-8 months even after opening of the bag.

Advantage of the granulated fertilizers is the possibility of local entering.
